When I was little, I had a Mickey Mouse Club record that featured songs from the original show. One song that I repeatedly listened to was “Anything Can Happen.”
Eclipse season has been going on since September 17, with a lunar eclipse in Pisces, and today’s solar eclipse in Libra wraps up the season. One of my favorite astrologers, Kelly Surtees, refers to eclipse seasons as a period of pattern breaking: cycles end abruptly and routines shift, sometimes with no warning. For these reasons it’s why I have the opening lines of that Mickey Mouse Club song ringing in my ears nearly every day during eclipse season: “Today is the day that is filled with surprises/Nobody knows what’s gonna happen.”
As I continue working as a daily building substitute at Wagstaff Middle School, and adjust to everything that this job entails, it’s readily apparent that many of my old patterns are breaking, and there are others I need to reassess. Currently I’m looking at all my outside activities, and seeing where I’m overextending myself and where I may need to step back.
With all of that in mind, I’ve made the decision to put A Life of Moxie on hiatus for October. This hiatus will give me an opportunity to rest, which I really need these days. I’ll also be evaluating how I want to move forward with weekly posts and other content. This Friday, October 4, will be the last Bitch and Brag for the month, and all paid subscriptions will be paused.
I appreciate everyone’s ongoing support and I will be back next month.
