As of this writing I am in the end stages of a head cold that I caught from HM. While I would love to make this week’s edition all bitches and no brags because I’ve been sick, there are still brag-worthy items. Let’s circle up!

Bitch: I spent this week sneezing, coughing, and feeling achy and gross. I hate getting sick.

Brag: My favorite home remedies help with the worst of a cold. There’s spicy lemonade, which is 6-8 ounces lemonade (I like Simply Light Lemonade or Trader Joe’s lemonade) with 12-15 drops hot sauce, a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar, and 1-2 tablespoons honey. Add to microwaveable mug and heat on high for about 2 minutes, and sip while hot. Another option is low-sodium tomato juice or vegetable juice and 12-15 drops hot sauce; add a squeeze of lime juice and maybe some salt-free seasoning for extra flavor. As of today, I feel much better.

Bitch: I’ve always been someone who is a hands-on learner, whether it’s a new software or app, but over the past few months I’ve been working with a variety of new tools that have been kicking my butt. ConvertKit, an email marketing platform that many entrepreneurs & small business owners prefer over other options, is currently on my bitch list because they use all these terms I’ve never encountered before with similar platforms, and figuring out how to undo something in a “broadcast” (their fancy-ass term for email blasts or e-newsletters, sheesh) makes me loopy. Guess I will have to get over myself and watch one of their tutorials.

Brag: Deena and I have been exchanging Connections and Wordle scores via text, and this week we took turns picking the starting word for Wordle, which has been a lot of fun. It’s not the same as when we played board games as kids in her rec room, but it’s still fun.

Bitch: My Lenovo tablet finally reached the point where I had to replace it, as it wasn’t charging properly anymore. It had a good run, though, of nearly 6 years, which in tech years is quite respectable.

Brag: I got a good deal on a Samsung tablet and have been going through the process of setting it up for streaming content, plus I am looking into a wireless/portable keyboard so I can use it for writing, too.
