A week of devastating blows and gut-punches. Gather round, friends.

Bitch: The polar vortex across the Mid-Atlantic states this week made it way too damn cold to function. Wagstaff ended up closing on Tuesday and starting late on Wednesday.

Brag: On Wednesday afternoon, I called the IRS about a tax payment issue and I got through to someone right away without being on hold forever. They were able to answer my questions, too. Maybe I shouldn’t mention it here because the Danger Yam/Felon in Chief might fire anyone who is helpful to the poors. [Ed. Note: Danger Yam is a nickname I saw a FB friend use, it is not a Corinne original.]

Bitch: All the crap spewing forth from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in just the first week of the Danger Yam’s regime has made the week even more hellacious. Seeing the effects of his proclamations & orders on people I care about is extremely upsetting.

Brag: I’m seeing lots of independent journalism that speaks truth to power about what’s going on, and ways to build community with others in order to fight back. I’ll share some of my favorite links in a post this coming week.

Bitch: Rooney is not doing very well, with way more moments of puking and pooping issues than he’s had in a long time. I plan on getting him to the vet next week.

Brag: We are spending lots of quality time together, whether snuggling on the couch or on my bed. He is such a sweet goofy little bear and if I learned anything from Ippie, it’s to enjoy every moment with my cats, even when they are being bossy or grumpy.
