Friday Bitch & Brag Index

Don’t get me wrong, I like my birthday month, but holy moly it seemed like it lasted forEVER. Circle up, kiddies!

Bitch: On Monday morning, I rushed into Wagstaff and couldn’t find my pen case/lanyard with my ID and key for the staff bathroom(s) and lounge, so I borrowed a key from the office. Then that night I got home and discovered the damn case had been in the bottom of my backpack all along. It felt very THE CALL IS COMING FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE to me.

Brag: Aunt Gigi sent me a fun care package/birthday gift with heart-themed items plus a Rosie the Riveter notebook and a keychain. Too cute!

Heart coaster, sticky notes, pencils, daisy keychain, Rosie the Riveter notebook, smiley sticker, and a little red bag/envelope with a check. Yay presents!

Bitch: My overseas pen pal sent a package to me that required a signature for delivery. USPS left a slip that offered redelivery options, but I couldn’t get the online form to work and leaving the signed slip in the mailbox didn’t net me the package. Today I went to the post office after work and stood in a very long line…

Brag: …and the package was located after some effort. Whew! My pen pal sent a clever “book and tea” kit crafted by Penguin Books, featuring a black tea with apple and cinnamon, plus a small tome of Dickens short stories. There was also a tiny spoon that says “Sip Read Imagine” and two more tea samples, and a lovely long letter. I love my pen pals!

Bitch: Since I couldn’t revive my smartwatch last week, I took two analog watches from the 90s to a local jeweler/watch repair for new batteries and/or additional repairs. The jeweler checked both watches, tested out new batteries, but neither of them worked, and new movements on both would cost more than the watches are worth. Maybe I can get my old Swatch working? Maybe??

Brag: I attended the eighth grade honor roll celebration and got to meet the parents of a few of my favorite students. I let one dad know how much I enjoy seeing his son in classes I cover, and how kind he is, and both of them just beamed with pride.

This week on The Corinne Channel: a BONUS bitch & brag, a damn fine sammich, the third season of an award-winning series, and more!
