If you’re new here, welcome! This weekly round-up style post goes out to all free and paid subscribers. Not sure what Friday Bitch & Brag is about? Here’s the link with the back story.
Time to circle up, kids!
Bitch: My best friend Emily’s* mom, Anna*, died on Monday and it has been a whirlwind of a week. Emily was already scheduled to come visit from her home in Europe on the 1st, and instead of spending time reconnecting with her family, now she has to help plan a funeral. I knew Anna ever since I was a kid and she was very supportive to me when Momcat died in 2009. This HURTS.
Brag: On Wednesday night, I picked up Emily at Dulles Airport and got the sweetest parking spot near the arrivals entrance. I’m grateful for the benevolence of the parking gods. Related sub-brag: it was only $6 to park because Em breezed through customs (thanks to this app) and baggage claim.
Bitch: Coke has once again made a disgusting limited edition flavor. This one is called Move and it tastes like Rainbow Brite’s ugly tears. Like their R&D team was faffing off all week, then decided at 4 o’clock on a Friday to take the dregs of the last two limited edition flavors to make the new flavor. I’ll stop with the analogies because I think you get the idea.
Brag: Pops is now using Zoom and loving it tolerating it. This week he had a joint presentation to do with a client and I walked him through testing out a mic - which he later had to return for a webcam/mic combo, as he’d thought Zoom was voice-only for some reason. He wisely chose to go to his client’s office so that he wouldn’t have to fuss with Zoom on his own.
Bitch: I have now reached the stage where I need a pill box to keep track of all the vitamins and supplements I am taking. I guess I should be grateful my health is overall quite good. Plus the box is pretty. But still, between the pill box and MF’ing Harris Teeter, I feel old.
Brag: Today we played the Game of Thrones at my house - meaning I got a new toilet in my bathroom. The Jeremy Renner plumber returned to do the install and took away the old one. What a way to kick start the weekend!
