The end of another long week…whew. Happy birthday to my cousin/brother/friend Sean, a mouthy Canuck with the biggest heart. Let’s circle up!

Bitch: Monday morning was a mess. I overslept, made two stupid driving mistakes on the way to school, then arrived at school to find out I had to cover a class for a teacher who is inconsistent with her sub plans. I was in a MOOD the rest of the day.

Brag: My new smartwatch arrived Monday afternoon—a Samsung Galaxy Fit3. I like the slim design and integration with my Samsung phone, and the price point was in my budget.

Bitch: I cannot seem to manage even an hour of deep sleep this week, and I’ve been exhausted every day…

Brag: …but several colleagues complained of similar issues, and misery loves company, so yay, us?

Bitch: On Wednesday I hit the McDonald’s drive-thru for breakfast, requesting a sausage McMuffin with egg, no cheese (American cheese is an abomination and I will die on this hill of pseudo dairy product). I wound up with egg, little bits of cheese stuck on the English muffin, and no sausage.

Brag: I got to cover eighth grade ELA classes on Wednesday and Thursday, and this week several actors from the Chesapeake Shakespeare Company were in residence, teaching students about Romeo and Juliet. The students were more engaged than I’ve ever seen, doing warmup exercises with the actors, taking initiative in reading lines and interpreting dialogue, and so engrossed in hearing an actor summarize the final act of the play that several of them yelled in shock. One student said, “What kind of messed-up story IS this?” I had so much fun observing the kids and talking with the actors that it provided the attitude adjustment I needed.

This isn’t going to end well, is it?

This week on The Corinne Channel: a BONUS bitch & brag, 80s era fiction, charming sleep stories, and more!
