Friday Bitch & Brag - Double Header
March 28 & April 4, 2025 - The Countdown to Spring Break Edition
Access to The Corinne Channel is for paid subscribers and features a roundup of what I’ve been consuming over the past week, from eats & drinks to media. It’s included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.

One more week of school before spring break and let me tell you, my body is ready. Let’s circle up!
Bitch: For a few months I’ve had issues wearing my favorite silver hoop earrings, as my oldest piercing (over 30 years old) in my left ear won’t let me push the thin silver wire through. I’m sure some OG Adventists would tell me this is my punishment for wearing nonfunctional jewelry. (If you know, you know.)
Brag: I ordered some v-neck t-shirts from Old Navy & they are very comfortable and great for school, where the indoor temperature remains way too high.

Bitch: I spent time covering in-school suspension at Wagstaff and found myself in a conversation with a student that made me wonder if I was being pranked. He kept asking to sharpen an already sharp pencil and when another student handed him a sharpener, he wound up breaking off the point.
Brag: Wagstaff’s Scholastic Book Fair made me nostalgic for the book fairs of my youth, buying Judy Blume books and whatever else looked good. Did you know you can donate funds to your local school’s book fair to help kids in need? I made a small donation to support all the “easy readers” at Wagstaff. Find your closest school at the Scholastic website.
Bitch/Brag: On Saturday I spent a few hours clearing out the front garden of overgrowth and weeds, including a small invasive tree that took root. I did my best to get the damn thing up on my own, but it was kicking my ass as the roots were much deeper than I expected. A neighbor across the street came over to assist & tore open their hand in the process, bleeding all over the place. I felt awful that he got injured, but also grateful for the help.
Brag: The front garden looks all clean & nice now, and if HM decides to plant some low-maintenance flowers or bushes, it’s ready for him!

Bitch: Last weekend, our neighborhood lost a beloved four-footed member. Swayze was the cutest, friendliest little dog, and always brought a smile to my face when I saw her. She was curious about everyone, especially if they had snacks. I will miss her dearly.
Brag: On April 1, I covered French classes at Wagstaff & taught a lesson I created on the history of Poisson d’avril. After the lesson, I handed out paper fish to color plus little Swedish fish gummy candy. It was a fun morning and the students were pretty well-behaved.

This week on The Corinne Channel: a BONUS bitch & brag, veggie dishes, a new binge watch, and more!
