The week began with a lunar eclipse and the month ends on Sunday, plus it’s Easter weekend, all of which means lots of shifts and changes. Gather round and let’s discuss!
Bitch: The horrific Key Bridge collapse in Baltimore on Tuesday. My heart goes out to the families of the construction crew members that died.
Brag: The collective response of support to the bridge collapse reminds me of what I love most about the city of Baltimore: the people. They are scrappy fighters who will cut a bitch before they allow the city to be denigrated or dismissed by others. Even those who are struggling will help their neighbors as much as they can. I experienced this first hand and I've witnessed it several times over.
Bonus Item: The Baltimore Civic Fund has set up the Key Bridge Response Fund to help the families affected by this tragedy. 100% of proceeds from the sale of this Route One Apparel t-shirt will be donated to the Key Bridge Response Fund.
Final weekend to use MOXIE20 at checkout to get 20% off at Busy Birdies Studio! Choose from handsewn zip pouches in two sizes, mini wallets, menstrual product pouches, and other handcrafted items.
Bitch: Tax returns are due soon and I haven’t even started on mine. Every year I put it off and complain about it, and I totally relate to what
wrote about dealing with taxes as a self-employed writer. Maybe before I’m 60 I will finally get an accountant to do mine. Maybe.Brag: I am finishing up as many projects as I can before Monday, but also reminding myself that my word for 2024 was PROGRESS and that means no self-flagellation over what doesn’t get done. Like cleaning out my closet.

Bitch: I’ve been hard on myself for way too long about not maintaining the weight loss I achieved in spring 2020 - spring 2022. I’m still struggling to accept that depression, anxiety & menopause plays a huge role in my ability to be consistent with diet modification and strength training…
Brag: …and this month, I decided I was ready to try again, and on Monday I will have completed a round of 21 Day Fix without completely running off the rails. I will have also finished a 21 day program with Fitness with PJ, a GenX trainer on YouTube who works specifically with women over 40. Her free workouts are tough and make me curse quite often, but between that and the diet modification I feel much better physically than I have in a very long time.
This week on The Corinne Channel: a sweet little TV series, a moving cover of a Beatles classic, a new-to-me detective series by a Baltimorean writer I adore, and more!
