Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.
Looking for an older edition of B&B? Check out the index of Friday Bitch and Brag here or by clicking the button below.
It’s finally cooled down a little bit here so let’s gather round and bitch a little, brag a little!
Bitch: For more than two years, my Brother sewing machine with the fancy bells & whistles hasn’t been working. Because of all the electronic components in the machine, I had to find an authorized Brother repair/service center, and the only one nearby was 45 miles away…
Brag: …but I dropped it off on Tuesday and though Chuck the repair guy was skeptical about being able to fix the machine, he did it and I am now his biggest fan. If you’re in the DMV area and have a sewing or embroidery machine in need of repair, check out Glory Bee’s Sewing Center up in Fallston, MD. They offer classes in addition to a fantastic selection of fabric, notions, and machines.
Rooney Update
Rooney is doing much better this week, now that the steroids have been worked out of his system. The vet thinks he may start puking again, in which case we’ll try a different medication to deal with possible inflammation.
He’s taking his twice daily epilepsy medication all crushed up and mixed into Churu treat, and that makes life a lot easier for both of us.
I’ve paused promoting the GoFundMe and PayPal campaigns to raise funds for Rooney’s care for the time being. If and when we reach the point where we need help to cover additional care, such as a dental cleaning, I’ll share the links again.
Bitch: Somehow I managed to fall down the rabbit hole that is hairstyle videos and reels on Facebook and Instagram. These women with their back to the camera and seemingly simple updos and easy everyday bun or twists have way more cooperative hair than I’ve ever had and I hate them. Now turn around, Little Miss Perfect Hair, so I can tell you to your face!
Brag: I had the use of Pops’ car for over a week, which made it possible to get the sewing machine repaired plus take care of other errands.

Bitch: I didn’t post a weekly column this week because I have been angry about several things that I am not going to go into here. I feel guilty whenever I don’t post when I say I will…
Brag: …but I did do several things that are good for my mental health & emotional well-being, like exercising 4 days in a row, eating good meals, reading, journaling, and resting. Getting the sewing machine repaired really helped lift my spirits, too.
This week on The Corinne Channel: humorous essays, classic movies and classic rock, fashion icons, and more!
