Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.
In case you missed an older Friday Bitch & Brag, you can check out the index here.
Let’s circle up, kids!
Bitch: Earlier today I went to Royal Farms to fill up the car with gas. All the pumps at the station I went to were aggravatingly slow, to the point that I tried 2 different grades and 2 different pumps, and only got up to a total of $4.00 of gas. When I asked a worker what was going on, she said, “the environmental people need to come out and change the filters.” Okay, a Google search tells me that fuel filters at gas stations need changing every 6 months to a year…but why can’t someone at your location take some initiative and put up signs? Or is management so afraid that they won’t get any paying customers if they are honest?
Brag: At the Greenbelt Farmers Market last Sunday, I got some gorgeous tomatoes, bread, and basil, so I kicked off August with a breakfast of scrambled eggs, pesto, heirloom tomato slices, and rosemary bread. So, so good.
Bitch: On Monday I lost a tiny silver hoop earring. This particular pair of earrings has been notorious for going missing, as I lost the other hoop over a year ago when I still lived in Baltimore and never found it. The remaining hoop earring was lost for an extended period, then I found it on the floor of my room. I’ve done some searching but I may have lost the hoop outside, or it fell out somewhere else in the house. I haven’t decided whether or not I want to replace the earrings, even though I really like them.
Brag: Last night, I used the small eggplants Mari* gave me on Sunday and made crispy baked eggplant “fries,” which turned out delicious. I used this recipe for crispy eggplant cutlets and ate the fries with a dip made of plain Greek yogurt and Trader Joe’s Ranch seasoning.

Bitch: Fatigue has been hitting me extra hard this week, to the point that I am struggling to maintain enough stamina to complete various projects or make necessary calls. It makes me think a lot about Momcat, and how much fatigue & malaise she dealt with in her 40s and 50s. I have way more empathy for her now.
Brag: Pops had to set up his desktop computer again after a major crash, and asked me to help with a few Windows 10 tasks he couldn’t figure out. I got them done pretty quickly and he was, again, very grateful and paid me for my IT support services.
