Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.

Mercury is retrograde and between distracted drivers and glitchy tech, I don’t know what’s worse. Gather ‘round, kids!
Bitch: Last Saturday morning, for unknown reasons, FedEx opted to not leave the Chewy package on the front step, which they usually do. I put in two calls to Chewy and they tried to get FedEx to redeliver but that didn’t happen until Monday. Rooney was NOT happy about the lack of crunchy dry food…
Brag: …but I was able to get to PetSmart on Sunday and get a bag of food, and now we have a backup in the (hopefully unlikely) event that there’s another delivery issue.
Bonus Item: While I was stopped at a light yesterday, I saw this sticker on the back of a truck and could not stop laughing.

Bitch: One of my USA-based pen pals mailed me a letter on or around June 15 and it showed up last week. She could have hand-delivered the letter on foot and it still would have gotten here faster.
Brag: I’ve prepped a good deal of fabric for new products to sell over at Busy Birdies Studio this fall—next up is sewing!
Lucky 13 for Rooney
Rooney’s vomiting abated this week—I think some unexpected shifts to his medication schedule threw him off a little bit. He’s fine now, and he got to enjoy some fresh mint and catnip from my friend’s garden last weekend.
He’s nearly out of medication and will need a follow-up visit & bloodwork later this month. Med refills will be around $100 and the vet visit will be around $400.
Are you able to donate $13 in honor of Rooney’s birthday month? Visit the GoFundMe or PayPal campaign. We’re grateful for any and all help, including shares on your social media. Thank you!
Bitch (kinda): Last month I had an interview to be a daily building substitute (essentially a floating sub that comes in every school day) at the high school where I subbed for a half day. I thought the interview went poorly, and I didn’t hear anything back from them or HR, so I went ahead and interviewed for the same position at the middle school where I subbed. That interview went great, and the assistant principal contacted HR to put in a request to hire, only to find out the high school had put in a request to hire right after that awful (to me) interview…
Brag: …and I decided to take the daily building substitute job at the middle school. I really like the assistant principal, and I got some good advice & insights from a former middle school teacher I know plus a friend whose kid attends the school. I am excited for this opportunity, but still really nervous—we’ll see how this goes.
This week on The Corinne Channel: NEW section on eats & drinks, plus dystopian fiction, the sitcom I can’t stop binge watching, and more!
