Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.
In case you missed an older Friday Bitch & Brag, you can check out the index here.
Time to circle up!
Bitch: My Wordle streak finally ended on Tuesday, when I learned the high number of words that start with S-P-I and end in E. Bah! I got my word guessing groove back on Wednesday, however, but the NY Times app is still not giving me accurate stats for Wordle.
Brag: On Wednesday night Pops and I went to see the Baltimore Orioles win in their second game against the Toronto Blue Jays. The O’s are in first place for AL East, which makes me very happy, because even if I’m not following their every move, the Orioles are my hometown team and I am forever a fan. That said…
Bitch: The food at Camden Yards was extremely disappointing. I got chicken tenders and fries, and it was barely warm and more like cardboard than chicken OR French fries. Pops got a Beyond Burger and the bun was half-frozen. My lemonade didn’t come with a straw, but a sippy cup lid, which I hate. (The plastic straws ban is all based on made-up numbers, by the way, and extremely ableist.) Getting anything other than a hotdog, pretzel, or peanuts is ill advised at a ballpark, apparently.
Brag: This week I made zucchini noodles (or zoodles, which is way more fun to say) with tofu and mushrooms and it turned out excellent. The recipe normally calls for carrots but I had some mushrooms to use up, and the substitution worked well. (Note: Email me if you want the recipe - the website where I found it changed their format & I can’t find it anymore.)

Bitch: Over the last couple weeks, I had to renew SSL certificates for a few of my websites and my site host makes this process way more complicated than it should be. I download code, then upload it in another spot, I click on a link for help, I watch a video on what to do next, I do the hokey-pokey, then I click on a new link and find out the new SSL certificate is ready to install. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, consider yourself lucky.
Brag: Last weekend I made a new furry friend. HM’s old buddy came by for a visit with his 10 year-old hound mix, Marco. This dog was a big goofy mellow beastie, with a sweet disposition and funny grin. Even Ippie (who loves dogs) was cool with him.
