My first full week of school and I am exhausted. Let’s circle up!
Bitch: A certain presidential candidate is trying, yet again, to spread racist, xenophobic lies about a minority group. Dude. Shut your burger hole and sit down. I work with sixth graders who are smarter than you.
Brag: A few weeks ago, I told Pops that if Taylor Swift responded to that AI endorsement BS with her endorsement of Harris/Walz, it could drive voter registration. This week, Taylor’s Instagram post announcing her endorsement of Harris/Walz led to over 400,000 visits to the vote.gov website—not necessarily registered voters, mind you, but people looking to find more information on how to register to vote in their state. Look what you made her do, you orange turd puppet!

Bitch: Why does Maryland state government rarely, if ever, offer a paperless option for communications? It takes FOREVER for me to receive important notices, all because they mail out hard copies when I could walk to their offices and get the information faster. Maybe they are all still figuring out how to use Outlook.
Brag: While I’m still tired at the end of each day, I’ve started a routine that seems to be working well for getting out the door on time every morning.
A Life of Moxie is a reader-supported publication. Become a paid subscriber for just $7/month & get access to the Corinne Channel at the end of every Friday Bitch & Brag, plus the ability to comment on all posts.
Bitch: I frequently get frustrated at Wagstaff* because teachers are inconsistent in providing all the information that the substitutes need in order to cover classes, and often I feel like there’s an assumption by staffers that we know protocols for certain things when there wasn’t any formal training.
Brag: I compiled a list of tips on how teachers can make it easier for subs, and the assistant principal added a slightly modified version to the weekly memo that goes out to all staff. Every day I hear words of praise and thanks for being there, and that helps me get through some pretty tough days.
This week on The Corinne Channel: a BONUS bitch & brag, aquatic docuseries, award-winning drama, and more!
