*A late Friday B&B as I was sick on Friday and resting all day on Saturday. Feeling much better on Sunday, thankfully.
More bonus items this week as I returned home on Wednesday from my travels, and a Bitch & Brag on behalf of my cats.
Bitch: When I get a bad bout of heartburn, I go all in, and Friday evening it was pretty gnarly. I will spare you the details, but suffice it to say I only use the word gnarly when something is utterly horrendous, e.g., traffic on SoCal freeways.
Brag: My flight home on Wednesday afternoon went well—I got into the A group for seating, the skycap checked my bags for me, there was an empty middle seat again.
Bonus Item: The toddler in front of me on the flight home was well-behaved, but then I had my noise-canceling headphones on for the 90 minute flight and I couldn’t hear much.
Bitch: I spent some time with my grandma, who lives with Aunt Leigh & Uncle Jack, but her dementia is getting worse and I don’t think she will remember I was there.
Brag: Last week I mentioned how Aunt Leigh always has clothes for me to try on and take home. Once again I had to borrow a small suitcase from her for the tank tops, comfy cotton pajamas, lounge pants and long-sleeved T-shirt, not to mention a few pairs of Jack’s worn-out jeans that I can repurpose for Busy Birdies Studio accessories.
Bonus Item: While in Canada, I helped Leigh by making and/or prepping a few recipes, including buffalo chicken dip, KFC-style coleslaw (not this exact recipe but close, and using bagged coleslaw mix), and a strawberry pretzel dessert. Out of the three, the first two were a big hit. Leigh’s recipe card for the dessert was missing some info & I misread part of it, so while it turned out very tasty, the strawberry Jello on top was a bit gloppy because I let the Jello gel too long. (I was too busy eating to get photos.)

Bitch: She comes back from being away for a week and doesn’t bring us anything, and then she doesn’t make sure that we have dry food. HM TOLD HER we were nearly out! What is her problem? She is going to let us starve to DEATH! [Ed. Note: On Tuesday morning, I ordered the dry food from Chewy and thought it would show up on Thursday, but it didn’t arrive until early Friday morning. They didn’t starve! There was plenty of wet food! Sheesh.]
Brag: HM is way better at being a Cat Dad than she is at being a Cat Mom because he:
put out a special water cup for me [Rooney]
made me a bed in the upstairs hallway AND left me a box to sit in [Rooney]
didn’t try to brush me [Ippie]
let me sleep on his bed whenever I want [Ippie]
