Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.
In case you missed an older Friday Bitch & Brag, you can check out the index here.
Time to circle up!
Bitch: For a few years I have been a fan of Miracle Noodles as it’s a low calorie pasta/noodle alternative that’s pretty tasty in a stir-fry. The company added a ready-to-eat version and I’d tried the spaghetti style and liked it, so on Tuesday evening I prepped the fettucine-style noodle to make sesame noodles. The noodles looked suspiciously like shredded plastic, but I thought, “eh, it’ll be okay”—it was not. The noodles were so rubbery and disgusting, I tossed them in the trash. Since then I’ve been trying out new lyrics to Deneice Williams’ “It’s Gonna Take a Miracle”, such as: “It’s gonna take a miracle to make me buy you again, that taste was gross, never again.”
Brag: I baked apple walnut muffins, which are delicious and helped me forget about the “All I Need Is a Miracle [to taste like food]” Noodles travesty (apologies to Mike and the Mechanics).
Bitch: The State of Maryland’s comptroller office has the most convoluted website(s) for paying taxes and making adjustments to installment plans, and they STILL send paper bills every month. All I need is an email telling me the payment is going to be deducted! How is this so difficult? Don’t answer that.
Brag: We ran out of foaming soap in the dispenser by the kitchen sink, and when I went looking for an inexpensive refill, I found instructions on how to make foaming soap using regular liquid soap and water—and it worked! It’s a 4:1 ratio of water to soap.
Bonus Item: Yesterday I was lying on my bed, watching TikTok videos & playing games, and I heard a thud up in the kitchen. I went to see what happened and discovered Rooney had started Kitty Cat Happy Hour (when the cats get their treats for the day) on his own by pushing the treats container off the counter and onto the floor. The lid had popped off and when I came upon the scene, Rooney was chowing down on catnip-flavored treats. I lectured him, I laughed, I realized these cats are way too smart to be unemployed. The treats are now in an upper cabinet with a door that shuts, but I wouldn’t be all that surprised if Rooney or Ippie figured out a way to get out the treats if I don’t start Kitty Cat Happy Hour promptly at 4 pm.

Bitch: This week marked 14 years since Momcat died. I miss her every day and I also am glad she is free from the physical pain that made the last 15+ years of her life so difficult.
Brag: I took advantage of the deals at that online behemoth this week and finally got some vacuum storage bags to use for storing seasonal clothes and linens, plus some Laura Geller baked foundation I’d read good things about over at
‘s Substack. The storage bags work beautifully and I love the foundation. And now for this week’s media wrap-up on The Corinne Channel: that summer blockbuster, time-traveling tricksters and reality competitions, a new release from a Baltimorean author, and a random song about family!
