*Apologies to Emily Dickinson and all her fans
Yesterday I published my first note on Substack Notes, which has aspirations to be a replacement to that bird app.
Notes feels a bit chaotic to start with, but I think part of that is reactionary. All the social media nerds & word nerds are craving a safe, new space to share without potentially incurring the wrath of the Musky one or getting edged out by the algorithm.
Below you’ll find the official Substack info on joining and using Notes. You don’t have to be writing your own Substack in order to use it, as best I can tell. For now it feels a little like being back in school, where someone writes a note on a piece of loose leaf paper, folds it up, and passes it to the person behind them.
Have fun, kids!
How to join
Head to substack.com/notes or find the “Notes” tab in the Substack app. As a subscriber to Do You Want Me to Read This Regular, or with Expression?, you’ll automatically see my notes. Feel free to like, reply, or share them around!
You can also share notes of your own. I hope this becomes a space where every reader of Do You Want Me to Read This Regular, or with Expression? can share thoughts, ideas, and interesting quotes from the things we're reading on Substack and beyond.
If you encounter any issues, you can always refer to the Notes FAQ for assistance. Looking forward to seeing you there!
