Friday Bitch & Brag
January 2, 2026 - The Calendar Confusion Edition: friends, kitties, and cleaning up
Paid subscribers get access to The Corinne Channel: a roundup of what I’ve been consuming over the past week, from eats & drinks to media. It’s included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.

The most liminal week of the year is nearly over and we head back to our normally scheduled programs on Monday. This week I had to remind myself several times what day it was, and I’m still not completely convinced it’s Friday.
If you missed my 2026 resolutions for everyone else, read them here.
You know the drill: it’s time to circle up for our first B&B of the new year. Let’s get to it!
Bitch: Have there always been so many cars on the road with STUDENT DRIVER signs/stickers on them, or am I noticing them more? And are they really student drivers or someone trying to get away with being a shitty driver by claiming they are still learning?
Brag: Last weekend I went to see Deena and we had a great time catching up—the last time we got together was before the pandemic, so it had been way too long. I got to meet her cats and snuggled Louie the kitten, which she and her friend recently rescued (and that I named). I stood and looked at the ocean, and gave it my grief and pain to carry out with the tide. All in all, a very healing 48 hours.

Bitch: Due to refrigerator space constraints, I keep my PUR water dispenser on the kitchen counter, which means I get algae growth near the spigot. I clean the dispenser every other week, but I couldn’t figure out how to clean out the algae inside the spigot…
Brag: …but good ol’ YouTube came to the rescue with a video on how to remove the spigot for thorough cleaning, and now the dispenser is all clean and shiny.

Bitch: It’s been a rough holiday season, what with the loss of Rooney. I miss him so much.
Brag: I appreciate all the kind messages from family and friends in response to my post. Healing Paws did a beautiful job honoring Rooney: they made two paw prints, had The Arbor Foundation plant a tree in his memory, and mailed a sympathy card that was signed by the two vets he saw plus several staffers. I’ve worked with good vets in the past, but this organization consistently went above and beyond and did not charge exorbitant fees.
This week on The Corinne Channel: a BONUS bitch & brag, delicious Italian food, getting back into reading, gripping podcasts, and more!
