I set up an index to all the past Friday B&B posts! You can find it in my Substack’s navigation bar or visit this link. If any of the links don’t work for you, send me an email and I’ll check that the settings are right for all subscribers to access. Circle up, kids!
Bitch: The smoke in the air from the Canadian wildfires has been awful here. On Thursday I walked outside and freaked out at how bad it was—way too reminiscent of living in SoCal during fire season. This climate change/global warming is not playing around.
Brag: As part of my plan to get back on track with better eating habits, I recently looked for a low-calorie frozen dessert option that would satisfy my sweet tooth. I’m already a huge fan of Talenti gelato and sorbetto, so I decided to try out their mini gelato bars in dark chocolate flavor. These bars are fantastic and only 80 calories per bar. There are a few other flavors as well, but if you love chocolate these will definitely satisfy that craving.
Bitch: Up in Baltimore, there’s been a major controversy over Planned Parenthood (PPFA) not being allowed to get a booth at Honfest, an annual event in the Hampden neighborhood, because the founder (who is a well-known Karen1 in the community) decided to enforce some stupid rule related to “political, religious, and hot button issues.” When the news came out, a major beer sponsor and several businesses dropped out, and even Baltimore’s mayor and other legislators said it was a really bad idea to not allow PPFA to have a booth. The Honfest organizers backtracked and said PPFA could get a booth, but they said, “no thanks, we’ll set up in a brick-and-mortar Hampden salon that actually wants us there.” A bunch of shops are donating a portion of their proceeds this weekend to PPFA, all because the organizer of this fun & entertaining community event decided to be a major jackass.
Brag: Several months ago, I saw a tweet about free copies of a book called White Women by Regina Jackson and Saira Rao, and I submitted a request for a copy. Nothing showed up, so I figured I missed out. Yesterday I went to the mailbox and surprise, the book was there! I’m looking forward to reading this and learning how to be less of a racist jackass.
Bitch: I have to spend the weekend working on my 2022 taxes2 and a report for my business. Every year I say I’m going to get an accountant, and I don’t, but this year got more convoluted because of the reports that Maryland needs for my LLC and that makes it all way more frustrating & confusing for me.
Brag: For the first time in over a year, maybe longer, I am caught up on my personal correspondence. This achievement is quite exciting and because it’s so rare I should consider buying a lottery ticket. (Special note to J.P.: I mailed you a letter yesterday!)

Do an online search for Denise Whiting Baltimore and read about/watch the “Kitchen Nightmares” episode on her former restaurant, and how she pissed off Baltimore because she trademarked “Hon.”
I filed an extension for my taxes and the reports, but the deadline is nearly up for the reports and I need the tax info for something else that’s on a tight deadline. UGH UGH UGH!
