This week’s B&B is coming late, as I have been feeling depressed for the last couple days. Pulling it together to put this out so I can feel like I accomplished something today beyond showering and getting dressed.
Exclusive for paid subscribers: the Corinne Channel is a roundup of what I’ve been reading, watching, and listening to over the past week. This list will be included at the end of each Friday Bitch and Brag.
In case you missed an older Friday Bitch & Brag, you can check out the index here.
Let’s circle up, kids!
Bitch: My Wordle streak got reset AGAIN and I don’t understand it. How am I supposed to keep track of my cleverness if the damn thing keeps resetting? I think I’m at 47 now.
Brag: Yesterday I got a big watermelon at the farmers market and used about 1/4 of it, along with a large Cherokee heirloom tomato, to make watermelon & tomato salad with feta. It may sound odd, but it’s such a tasty combination of sweet and savory, and so refreshing on a hot summer day. I tossed it with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and a little bit of kosher salt.
Bitch: I kept having issues with mold growing in the cats’ water fountain, so I disabled the fountain component until I can decide whether or not I’m willing to clean the damn thing every five days. For now they are drinking from the metal bowl base and don’t seem to mind that the fountain part is gone.
Brag: My online friend Jerome Stueart started a Substack called The Whimsical Jambearee and it’s chock full of fun content—writing, artwork, astrology, music, personal essays. Check him out!

Bitch: I am still getting hot flashes even though the SNRI I’m taking is supposed to reduce and/or eliminate them. Blah blah blah menopause is making me crazy blah blah blah. I’m ready for the scene where I am happily living in France with my bestie Emily and her husband, allowing her three kids to take care of us, and grumbling in Franglish about the price of fromage.
Brag: I finally did a hard thing and sought professional help in dealing with my debt. The process to sign up and get approved was pretty easy and I am nervous but hopeful about what comes next.
And now for this week’s media wrap-up on The Corinne Channel:
